Love as a Ball of Yarn
By Teagan Frances

I think I understood love,

Before I had ever felt it.

When I could visualize a feeling,

Make it tangible

Like a ball of yarn

I had only heard tales

Of how long and tangled

It could be

But I had never known

My limbs wrapped

Within a thin wooly mess;

No idea of beginning or end.

No exit sign

Each of my arteries

Cinched by a cool blue thread

My life could stop

With the pull of a string

And there you sit,

Knitting.
